The next SVS Friday Forum will be held on 7th May 10-12 noon through Zoom. The forum will be based around the formation of a local Green Network, here's some information from my colleague Nicky Judd, SO:LInked Programme and Performance Manager:
Planting the new Southampton Green Network – come and help it to grow!
Lots of people across Southampton are involved with green projects – from tree planting, to food growing, to encouraging biodiversity, community gardens and allotments, to groups looking after local parks and open spaces. We’re also recognizing the huge value in green activities for our health and wellbeing, and for sustainable communities.
We know that bringing together people who share a passion and an interest means we can support each other, share ideas, make it easier for people to find local green projects to get involved with, apply for funding and develop projects together.
So Southampton Voluntary Services and Mayfield Nurseries (Solent Mind) have teamed up to facilitate the setting up of a green network and we’d love you to be part of it!

Also, my colleague Tara Doel, SVS Special Projects Development Worker, is leading on a survey of buildings needs for the sector, here's some information from Tara:
We are undertaking a survey of current premises and office space used or likely to be needed by our colleagues in the voluntary/charity sector across the city.
Our aim is to both help organisations and groups find and /or make better use of their current premises going forward and also to feed into voluntary sector requirements and explore opportunities in strategic estates discussions with public sector partners.
Since COVID, ways of working have changed quite significantly and as lockdown lifts new arrangements will emerge that may change existing and future office / accommodation requirements and needs.
Please can you give us as much information as you can so we can use the insights of this survey to help better understand and support the accommodation needs of the sector across the city.
