The Prince’s Trust – ‘Get Started in Health Care Solent’

The Prince’s Trust in The Solent have an exciting opportunity that some of the young people you work with may be interested in – ‘Get Started in Health Care Solent’ from 23rd – 25th June.

This is a 3 day online Health and Social Care employability and skills training programme. The first two days consists of sessions preparing for interviews and on the third and final day, there will be live interviews with recruiters across the health and care sector in The Solent, so there will be opportunity for young people to go into an entry level job.

The training and interviews will be delivered over Zoom but if the young person does not have access to a laptop or smartphone then they’ll be able to dial in from a phone. There will be a ‘Taster Day’ on Wednesday 17th June for young people to come and find out how the course works and be presented with a list of employers attending the recruitment event and their vacancies.

After the training, the young person will be matched to a mentor, who will help them apply for next steps for example preparing for second interviews, applying for jobs or help them settle and adapt in their first few months of work.
