Southampton City Vision – First Consultation
We wish to inform you that the first consultation on the Southampton City Vision has begun and will be open until midnight on April 19th.
Southampton City Vision is Southampton City Council’s new Local Plan which, when complete, will set out what development can take place across the city over the next 20 years and beyond. This will have to include finding sites for around 20,000 new homes by 2040, new places where people can work and businesses can run, as well as all the infrastructure and facilities that people need to live and work.
We are at the start of the process of developing this new plan and understanding what people need and getting their ideas for the future of the city is critical to the process. We are not making any proposals at this stage for specific sites in the city, first we need to understand the needs, priorities and aspirations of people and businesses. We are also doing a ‘call for sites’ so if anyone who knows of or owns land/premises that they feel could be suitable for (re)development, they can let us know so this can be considered as part of the development of the plan.
The link below takes you to our website where you will find more information and a link to the on-line survey. Please feel free to share this information with anyone who you feel has an interest in the future of Southampton.
