Sholing Valleys- newsletter September 2019

We had an extremely good day at the beginning
of September when holding our very first BioBlitz
Our thanks must go to Phil Budd who recorded all
the species during the day with a fantastic 297
records of 212 different species by 23 recorders.
A palmate newt, water shrew and lilac oyster
(an uncommon fungus) were new finds.
There was a programme of pond dipping and
various activities were laid on as well as a barbecue
and refreshments.
Our thanks must also go to Mick Milner and his wife from the Southampton Natural History
Society – Mick took some amazing photos.
