SCC budget consultation open
SCC launched its public consultation on its budget proposals on 24 October 2018 to seek the views of
residents, partners and businesses on its priorities and proposals to deliver a balanced budget. Voluntary
organisations are urged to take the time to fill in the budget consultation online. You can respond on behalf
of a whole organisation. The consultation can be found on the SCC website
(www.southampton.gov.uk/budget) and the site includes supplementary information sheets,
Equality and Safety Impact Assessments, and frequently asked questions.
In addition to the Budget consultation, the council will also be undertaking additional,
specific consultations on revising the Adult Social Care Charging policy, the future of two
council owned residential care homes, and revising service charges for tenants (Housing
Revenue account). These will be carried out under their respective statutory consultation
and representation regimes, and will run in parallel with the main budget consultation.
If you would prefer to feedback face-to-face or by email please contact
yourcity.yoursay@southampton.gov.uk. The online questionnaire will close on 2 January
2019, although written responses can be submitted up until 16 January 2019. Cabinet will
review and make decisions on the proposals on 19 February 2019, and Full Council will set
the final budget on 20 February 2019.
