New funding opportunity from the Police and Crime Commissioner launched

Safer Communities Fund

The Police and Crime Commissioner is pleased to announce the launch of a new funding round for October 2018 to September 2019 to support victims and reduce offending. We are looking for new, innovative and exciting approaches, as well as approaches that have been proven to work. Applications can be submitted between today, Tuesday 8 May and Friday 8 June at 14:00.

Information on how to apply can be found on the Police and Crime Commissioner’s website at . It can also be found within the attached document which provides guidance on the available opportunities when applying for grant funding in specific areas of work. It contains information about the grant criteria, details of the grant process, useful contact information and guidance for completing the form. I would encourage you to read this document thoroughly before applying for funding.

The application form can be found at: . A pdf copy of the form can be found on the website, for reference only.

Safer Together Funding

The Police and Crime Commissioner is also inviting applications from North Hampshire for the Safer Together Funding. Know of a project, event or initiative that could do with £500? Organisations operating in Basingstoke, Hart and Rushmoor are invited to put themselves forward to receive a small grant as part of the Police and Crime Commissioner’s Safer Together event to be held in Basingstoke later this year.

Schools, community groups and voluntary organisations are all invited to submit a short application to the Police and Crime Commissioner by Friday 18 May to be in with a chance to win the funding. The applications will then be shortlisted with six being put to the public vote at the Safer Together Event in Festival Place on Tuesday 19 June. Two of the projects will be awarded £500 following the public votes.

The Safer Together event showcases the partnership projects funded by the Police and Crime Commissioner that:

  • Support the vulnerable
  • Help victims of crime on their recovery journey
  • Work with those at risk of offending, helping them avoid triggers that might otherwise lead them into anti-social behaviour or crime
  • Enable the constabulary to focus on policing – identifying threats and risks, protecting the community and pursuing those who wish us harm.

To apply for funding you can call the Communications and Engagement Team 01962 871595 to request a form or download one from

I would like to encourage you to circulate this information to your colleagues and partners, and anyone you think may be interested in applying.

We look forward to your applications and if you have any queries please don’t hesitate to contact me and my colleagues at

Kind regards
