Navigator (Social Prescription Link Worker) – No LImits
We have an exciting opportunity available within new Social Prescription project. We are seeking a committed and motivated individual to help set up and establish this work, ensuing young peoples’ navigation and connectivity into support and positive activities within Southampton. The successful candidate will be responsible for engaging young people (13-25 years old) into positive activities and support within the local Southampton area to improve mental health and wellbeing, and access to education and employment.
This role requires you to act as the first point of contact through referral and signposting for young people, to help them to navigate the range of positive opportunities to improve health and wellbeing. Knowledge of brief intervention work and an understanding of services available within the area would be beneficial.
Work directly with vulnerable young people is required so a good knowledge of safeguarding and risk assessment when working in difficult and complex situations is essential. You will provide young people with information, signposting and support so an awareness of the major issues that affect young people’s lives is also essential.
Salary Scale: NJC 20-25 (£19,819 – £23,111) Pro rata based on 37 hours FTE
Hours: 30 hours a week. This will include evening and weekend work. One Year Fixed Term Contract (with possibility of extension)
