Mental Capacity Act (MCA) and Organisational Adult Safeguarding Self Audits 2018
The Safeguarding Adults Boards in Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Portsmouth and Southampton have an established Quality Assurance Framework, which is designed to enable the respective Boards to fulfil their remit of ensuring local safeguarding arrangements are both effective and that they also deliver the outcomes that people want.
To support partner organisations in the on-going development of their safeguarding arrangements the LSABs will be undertaking the 2018 Organisational Adult Safeguarding and MCA Self Audits. They are designed to assist partner agencies to evaluate the effectiveness of internal adult safeguarding arrangements as well as MCA practice. Information gained from the audits will enable partners to identify and prioritise any areas in need of further development.
These audits are designed to be facilitative and to support continuous improvement. There is no intention to publish the results of individual organisations or to use the information for comparative purposes. Instead, areas of generic learning and thematic findings will be identified and used to inform the LSABs’ strategic development of adult safeguarding for its area.
You are asked to complete the Self Audits electronically and to return them to the LSAB by 15th February 2019.
