LSCB information.. Children who are “not brought” to appointments

In response to learning from case reviews across the 4 areas of Southampton, Portsmouth, Hampshire and Isle of Wight guidance has been produced by the 4LSCBs regarding “What happens when a child is not brought to their appointment?”. The attached document gives details of this and also a link to the guidance for practitioners. For further information on child protection procedures and safeguarding topics see:

A leaflet for parents and carers on this topic is available here, this explains why it concerns professionals when a child is not brought to their appointment, what they can do if they can’t bring a child to their appointment or they need additional help and support.  Where possible it is recommended that this leaflet should be made available to parents and carers in waiting rooms, made available on NHS Trust webpages, where appropriate, and used to support correspondence where practitioners are finding engagement with the child/family difficult.
