Community Support Officer – No Limits
We have an exciting opportunity available within our Community support team for an enthusiastic and motivated individual. You will have responsibility for your own caseload of clients to support them around housing and tenancy issues.
You will be working with young people aged 16-25 both in the community (including in their homes) and at our open access Advice Centre.
You will help the young people to identify their needs by listening to them to complete a holistic assessment of their needs and then creating action plans and risk assessments to empower them to achieve their goals
You will support young people by providing information and advice on a range of issues including housing, benefits and employment.
You will support young people to prevent homelessness through negotiating with landlords, family and friends, housing providers and other agencies.
You will support young people to improve their independent living skills including budgeting, debt advice and resettlement into new accommodation.
A sound knowledge of rights, the benefits system, housing and budgeting or a willingness to learn is key to this role.
Salary Scale: NJC 20-25 (£19,819 – £23,111) Pro rata based on 37 hours FTE
Hours: 30 hours a week. This will include occasional evening and weekend work.
