FareShare Southern Central

FareShare Southern central is a charity working to redistribute good quality surplus food to local charities and community groups. The food is surplus because of things such as over ordering, branding mistakes, labelling errors and more. Last year we were able to save 678 tonnes of fresh food and deliver it to 165 organisations across Hampshire & Dorset.

We have been operating in Southampton for 5 years and currently support many different groups in the area and we are keen to support more people. We are able to work with various different types of groups such as lunch clubs, school breakfast clubs, food banks, day centres, homeless shelters and more. If you run a charity or a not for profit community group then we can help you.

A national survey found that, on average, each charity saves £7,900 from its yearly food bill by using food from FareShare. The food also helps the organisations provide healthier, more nutritious meals, with 77% saying it’s improved their client’s diets.
