Co-op Foundation – Youth-led Advocacy to Improve Community Spaces

Max. Value: £35,000 Closes 20 Sept 2019
Co-op Foundation have launched the first strand of a new £3 million extension to the Co-op Foundation #iwill Fund.

This fund supports the aim of the #iwill campaign to make social action part of life for as many 10 to 20 year-olds as possible, forming a habit of community involvement they will continue as adults.

The extended fund will now run until 2022, with an overall focus on supporting social action that draws on young people’s own lived experience in order to:

● Connect young people to social action opportunities that lead to genuine community impact

● Empower them through the difference this makes for themselves and their peers.

Grants are available to community organisations in England for projects that support  the aims of the #iwill campaign by helping young people (age 10-20) have a say in how community spaces that matter to them are managed. It is expected to make around 8 grants of up to £35K to groups in England for one year with opportunities for re-applying for up to 2 further years funding.

Two other strands will launch later in 2019, focusing on:

● Social action which supports young people experiencing bereavement

● Social action which supports young people through the transition from primary to secondary school.
