People's Health Trust Active Communities Funding

Active Communities is a local programme designed to invest in local communities. It is applicant friendly and has a 2 stage process. Deadline for stage 1 applications is 6th January and stage 2 is 27th January 2017.

SVS are working with the People’s Health Trust to support groups in Southampton to apply for Active Communities funding.

Groups can apply for £5K - £25k funding a year, for up to two years.

To be eligible groups must have been constituted for three months (as of 27th Jan 2017) and have an annual income lower that £350k / year.  Groups must be in a non-profit format, i.e. unincorporated association, charity, company limited by guarantee, cic etc.

The funding will support activities that regularly bring people together within deprived communities in Southampton (see map below),  or across communities of interest who are socially and financially disadvantaged in the city.

The aim is create stronger connections between people and help people make their community or neighbourhood even better.  There is a strong focus on citizen empowerment, so the project ideas must come from the communities themselves.
