Community Conversations – National Hate Crime Awareness Week
October 17 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm
During this year’s National Hate Crime Awareness Week, Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) Wessex is working with the Southampton Hate Crime Network to host another of its “Community Conversations”.
CPS Wessex are meeting with local community groups across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, Dorset and Wiltshire to increase knowledge of our work, listen to feedback and concerns from our communities, and raise awareness of criminal behaviour that might be affecting people across these counties.
You are invited to join us at SPECTRUM Centre for Independent Living CIC, Unity 12 9-19, Rose Road, Southampton, SO14 6TE on Thursday the 17th of October 2019, between 11am and 2pm, where you will have the opportunity to tell us your concerns, ask questions, and give us some feedback.
We will be discussing themes such as:
- What the CPS does and how do they do it?
- What is a Hate Crime? Why are Sentence Uplifts so important?
- How does the CPS respond to Domestic and Sexual Abuse, including coercive and controlling behaviour?
- What support is available to victims and witnesses of Hate Crime?
This event is completely free and refreshments and lunch will also be provided.
If you are able to attend, please book your place by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or phoning 023 8020 2643 by Monday the 7th of October. If you have any dietary or access requirements, please advise us when booking your place.
