First of all this month I want to share with you an important change to the way we work with Capita. This change is a move beyond a client / supplier relationship to a true partnership through a jointly owned limited company called Capita Southampton Limited (CSL).
The creation of CSL reflects the refreshed commitment from both Southampton City Council and Capita to working as one, to deliver improved outcomes for the city. We believe that together we can further modernise our services, realign our work to put the customer at the heart of everything we do, and deliver ongoing improvements and benefits for our residents, service users, staff and partners.
CSL will provide the following services to the council:
– Customer services – HR Pay
– Health and safety – Learning and development
– Revenues and Benefits – IT
Capita will also continue to provide our print and procurement function outside the jointly owned company.
Simon Smith, Chief Executive of CSL, and I will be sharing more details about CSL and what it means for us all with you over the coming weeks. Staff now employed by CSL have been kept fully informed about these changes and the difference it will bring.
The hallmark of this new jointly owned company is that financial benefits will be shared equitably between both parties. CSL has also adopted the council priority outcomes and behaviours to greater align our organisations.
