NHS Southampton City Community Health and Well-Being Grants

NHS Southampton City Community Health and Well-Being Grants of up to £5000 are available to voluntary and community groups for projects that take place during 2012 and 2013 that:

  • Improve the quality of life of the people of the City and reduce inequalities
  • Support NHS Southampton City to meet its strategic and local delivery objectives

What can be Funded

  • Set up costs for a one-off project or development work
  • New initiatives or joint activities
  • Administration, publicity, printing, stationary, communications
  • Small pieces of equipment (not large capital items)
  • Rent for premises or hire charges for using a community facility
  • Volunteer expenses
  • Sessional staff to run activities
  • Development and training for staff

All applications must be completed and submitted by 5pm on Monday 2nd April 2012

Southampton Voluntary Services and NHS Southampton City will be holding a workshop to support groups through the application process on Tuesday 28th February from 2-4.30 at SVS.

Johnstone’s Paint Scheme

Want to brighten up your community building? Make your premises colourful and welcoming?
Paint your fences funky colours?
If so, would you like some free Johnstone’s paint to help you do it because SVS can get you some!
SVS is working in partnership with PPG Architectural Coatings, in association with Carillion, to distribute free paint to local community and voluntary groups and will have about 90 litres each month to distribute. Please contact office@southamptonvs.org.uk or phone 02380228291

1st March 2012- this is the deadline for full applications to be completed in order to be considered for funding in the November Board meeting. We advise that Eligibility Forms are completed by 1st August 2011 in order to hit this deadline.

The Trust provides funding to innovative projects that strive to improve and encourage the safe use of the Internet for educational, inclusion and other charitable purposes. The aim is to help disadvantaged and vulnerable groups to use the Internet, i.e. young people, the elderly, the disabled and sick, and people in deprived areas.
No upper or lower limit of grant is specified in the sponsor’s guidelines.

Community Grants Programme

Deadline:12 noon Friday 17 February 2012.
The first round of applications for the Community Grants programme for charitable groups working with unemployed adults has just taken place. Over £50,000 has been allocated to groups across the county for a range of activities that will help people gain new skills and improve their chances of finding paid work.

Groups can apply for up to £12,000 to help people living in Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Portsmouth and Southampton who are not in paid employment. Priority will be given to applications for work with lone parents, women, people with health or disability issues, people aged 50 or above, and people from diverse communities (including ethnic minorities).

Thornhill Community Health Group

Does your group need some funding?
Thornhill Community Health Group has £60,000 available for constituted community groups, charities, statutory agencies and other not for profit organisations to fund health projects in Thornhill commencing April 2012.

  • Groups can apply for between £500 – £10,000 a year for up to 3 years
  • Activities must benefit the health and wellbeing of Thornhill residents
  • Applicants will need to present their project ideas at the Participatory Budgeting event on Saturday 3rd March 2012
