Human Resources Advice
Our HR Development Worker Lindsay Davies provides advice, support and training on a whole range of personnel issues to voluntary organisations across the city.  In addition to giving advice over the phone, Lindsay will also meet with managers and trustees to offer more detailed guidance and support.  Training is available to organisations through open access courses arranged by SVS.  Specific organisational training needs can also be addressed by arranging courses or workshops for the managers and/or trustees of the organisation.  In addition to writing regular articles for SVS Mailing, Lindsay writes personnel policies as well as reviewing existing policies and/or staff handbooks.   Typical questions she can help you out with are in the areas of employment contracts, disciplinary procedures, pay and taxation and recruitment.
